August 10, 2008

Dear Elder Sean,
We are actually on the coast of Oregon and just found our cabin. Of course, it has no internet so we had to come to the nearest town and took for a computer. I'm at a hotel using their computer. Our cabin is rustic but right on a lake and Alex is thrilled that we have an xbox there, so life is good. It comes with a canoe and little row boat, crabbing nets and a fire pit. I think it will be a fun week. We are close to the sand dunes too so we're going to try and rent some ATV's to go cruising.
We spent the weekend in Portland and it was a lot of fun. Next week we'll send you pix of our trip, but today I have to be kind of short and sweet so I don't use up too much time. We went to a ward in Portland. They were very friendly. Kind of reminded us a little of Hilton Head-it was a small ward and an unusual meeting house. On Saturday we took the local transportation around to see the downtown, shop and go to the street market which was very interesting. Lots of little gimmees there. Portland is beautiful and we've had great weather so far. No rain in sight.
How was your week? We've been praying for you this week to help relieve your headaches-I hope they are starting to subside. How was your concert? We got your flyer for it and it looked great. I hope it all went as you planned. Did they play in your sacrament meeting. I can't imagine having a large group like that playing in our meeting. How fun.
We will be checking the email throughout the week and especially on Monday to look for your letter. Alex is sitting here with me and he says hi. I feel bad that this letter is so short, but the kids are alone at the cabin and Alex says to tell you that there are bears there. Actually there are bears there.
Take care of yourself. We are well and we will try to not have too much fun without you. jk We are thinking of you always, we miss you and hope you are well and happy. We will also send a little package from here to you, so look foward to that.
Love you much,
momxoxoxoxo
