Dear Elder Sean,
It was sooooo great talking with you this week. It makes me feel so much better, so much closer to you and what you're doing when I can hear your voice. You sounded happy and it made my day. Thank you so much for the wonderful Christmas present, those beautiful songs on the piano. It was as if the music was traveling over South America, Central America, the southwest and up to Idaho for me to hear. I could picture you in my mind sitting there playing and of course, I was moved by it. Thank you for thinking of us.
Our Christmas came and went but there were lots of little stories I heard through the season that have motivated me to make a difference wherever I can and with whomever I can. I love hearing stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things in their lives. If each of us would just use each day to make someone else's day brighter, this would be a different world.
It's pretty rare for us to have as much snow as we've had lately. It's been fun especially for the kids during their Christmas break. I took them hookey-bobbing the other day while dad was at work. Kirk sat in the back to let me know how the kids were doing and I was trying to be very cautious. I took Billy and Fisher with us too. They all loved it. Kirk thought it looked so fun that he tried it too even though he wasn't even wearing a coat or gloves. He created such a wake with his weight that he was covered with snow when he got back in the car. During one of our last runs I ventured a little further from our area and Leah ran into a mailbox on a straight-away. I felt so bad. She was wailing and I couldn't tell how badly she was hurt, so I brought her home and checked her out. No bruises, but she really hit her shoulder and side pretty hard. We said a little prayer and I let her rest on my bed and watch HSM2 which seemed to take her mind off of things. I had to call dad and ask him what to look for in case she was hurt internally. It was embarrassing to have to call him since I knew he wouldn't ever take them hookey-bobbing. But Leah is fine now. Sis. Yorgason was out on the roads with her kids at the same time as me. Despite the accident, it really was pretty fun for the kids.
Alex has been busy with his history class making a 1920's video which is pretty funny. Alex is the film editor, sound mixer, etc. He has also been making a video for APC about video gaming and its addictive nature. It's also pretty funny and will be part of a larger video they will show at ward conferences.
Kirk has been going out with a girl named Jamie a couple of times now. We tease him that he doesn't even know her last name but keeps asking her out. He went to the BYU/BSU basketball game with her last night. BSU won even though BYU was ranked #20. He's having a New Years Eve party here tomorrow night. What happens in Cordoba on New Years? Lots of fireworks again?
Sports news-the Patriots just finished up a perfect 16-0 season. Pretty impressive.
Ashton Beagley just got his mission call to Anaheim CA Spanish speaking mission. So he'll be in my family's mission area which is a great area and lots of work for Spanish speaking. I think he'll really enjoy it.
We're taking off Tues for SLC. While we're there we will stay most the time with G & G Thompson, a night or 2 with Steve and Carolina. We're going to go to a BYU basketball game while we're there with Steve. We will also visit with the family who adopted the girls' birth cousin, Tani. Their last name is Young. The girls are very excited about meeting him. We'll probably go sledding too. They've gotten tons of snow this year so far.
Hopefully you'll be hearing from Jared soon. He was anxious to get your address so I gave it to his mom and said he hadn't heard anything from you and really wanted to. His mom said he sounded great on Christmas.
At church today they made lots of callings changes. I guess it's a good time at the first of the new year. It seemed like almost everyone was standing up at one point. I'm still with the Bears but I've been subbing in Primary quite a bit lately. We have 4 families moving out in the next couple weeks-the Zollinger's, the Fredette's, Tucker Johnson's family and the Perry's.
We had the Koefed family over on Wed night for a game night. They brought all 9 of their children. It was fun. The little ones hung out downstairs and the rest of us played President and Scum, 100, and Nertz.
We're sending another little box for you tomorrow. I picked up a fun t-shirt I think you'll like. Let me know what you think when you get it. If there are things you particularly liked in the boxes we sent you, let us know. Remind us of what we put in there. We'll take lots of pix in SLC and send you some next week.
I also enjoyed getting to talk with your mission president too. He spoke very highly of you. Keep up the good work. Stay true to who you are in all situations and remember you always have lots of love and prayers from your whole family.
Love you,
