Dear Elder Sean,
Dad's writing you right now on the computer in the kitchen, so I thought I'd sneak away in my quilt room and write you. I sent Hma. Paez a quick letter so hopefully she's figured out her email problem. We just got off the phone with Kirk. He's watching Mormons and Mobsters with his FHE family tonight. He's keeping quite socially active, if you know what I mean. Today was his ward conference and he said that every talk and lesson was on marriage. I told him to get used to it, he's at BYU. Kirk just found out from an old companion that one of the families he taught and that got baptized and we met them when we went down there just went through the temple in Nov. and were sealed. The fact that we got to meet them and spent an afternoon with them made that story even sweeter.
We're enjoying warm (ha ha) weather here. In the upper 40's each day and nice and sunny. Today the girls actually went outside and played barefoot. Of course, the girls are a little on the crazy side so that kind of behavior is expectedly unexpected!
We're re-doing out master closet, so Dad and Alex demolished it over the weekend and now we're patching the drywall holes from the demolition. Tomorrow we'll paint it and on Tues, Calif Closets will come in and install our closet pieces. Our bedroom looks like a war zone with all our clothes laid out, including the washer/dryer in the middle of our room. Clutter definitely doesn't lend itself to feelings of calm, but I've always known that.
How are you doing this week? Be sure to let us know which email account to send your letters to. It seems like they had a hard time getting to you last week. I always write and send on Sunday evenings, so there should always be something there by Monday. Right now I'm sending my letter to both of your accounts. Have you been asked not to use the gmail accounts any more?
I'm glad to hear you got our packages. We have a lot of fun getting those together for you. Thanks for sharing also the things you learned from Elder Robbins. I'm sure that was a great experience for all of you.
So what have you learned new this week? In SS we discussed 2Nep 1 and 2 this week and it was a good discussion. So many unknowns about the creation and what Adam and Eve were really thinking about when they were enticed to transgress one of the laws. Because they didn't know right from wrong at that point, they didn't actually break the law or commandment, they just transgressed. To paraphrase "it must needs be that there is enticements in all things". We can either be enticed to do good or enticed to do evil, but we are always being enticed.
In RS we learned more of Joseph Smith and his initial persecutions, people mocking the church and the prophet himself. I'm sure you see those same type persecutions where you are, we all do in the world around us but like Joseph- just stay true to what the spirit has already testified to you. I love when Joseph Smith said, " I knew it and I knew that God knew it and I could not deny it."
I'll make this a little short, since I can hear dad still out there typing away. I miss you terribly and long to talk but your letters make my week and I send you sweet feelings from the spirit as I pray for you each day. Glean all you can from your President and his wife. You are there by his side for a reason.
Have a great week.
Love you,
